Cassette Regret

I sold my entire cassette collection (over 100 New Wave classics from the 80s and 90s) for $12 on Craig’s List. I hadn’t listened to them in a while and they were taking up valuable real estate in my family’s Manhattan apartment. My family is growing and I needed to clean house.

Like some aging jock’s high school trophies, boxed, forgotten and dusty, it was time to let them go. All I could think about was how I was turning into Al Bundy clinging to his heydays at Polk High. I thought, “I’m better than that!”

Ebn Ozn – AEIOU sometimes Y

Lene Lovich – Lucky Number

John Sex – Hustle with my Muscle

Jim Carroll – These Are the People Who Died

God Bless the 80’s!
