My name is Vincent Young and this is my blog: Cranial Gunk. It’s part reading journal, part personal diary, and entirely my opinions and stray thoughts. A huge chunk of my childhood was spent watching TV, reading comic books, and making up stories in my head. Now decades and scores later, I still spend a lot of my time watching TV, reading, and making up stories (I write them down now. It’s therapeutic.) I like a wide range of books and movies, but lean towards visually surreal science fiction and supernatural stories. For an idea of the kinds of books I like visit my Goodreads profile.

I can’t draw or make music (though I’ve tried every now and then) but am a fan of both. I also take a lot of pictures with my phone and with my cherry red Nikon D3400. I’ve uploaded some of my pictures to Flickr but you’ll find the bulk of them on my Instagram.

At the time of writing this, Cranial Gunk is just two years shy of 20! It began as the title of a poem I was working on and then the domain name for a site I had built on Go Daddy to teach myself HTML in the 1990s. It’s grown with me – A retrospective of my development as a writer and (to some degree) photographer. Unless otherwise stated, all of the writing, pictures, and art in this blog are my original work (except the screenshots and scans of other artists’ works).
